I never carry cash - I dunno why, having so many bank cards I just never seem to have, or to need ready cash in my pocket. I tip in restaurants, the hairdressers etc, by asking them to add on an amount to my card transaction, over and above the bill.

The problem with this however, is that paying by card just never feels like I am using my own money (until I see my bank statements that is), as it is all too easy.

Having cash in my pocket and then physically handing over cash with each purchase would likely make the transaction seem more 'real' - and help a lot with my own personal finances and budgeting.
