It is rather exciting that it’s not dark when I catch my morning trains anymore…and the unusual levels of sunlight and warmth in February made for early budding of blossom on the trees outside my living room window. This pleases me greatly, although I do keep mistaking it for snow. It is safe to say that spring is well and truly on its way and that the winter blues are starting to wane…
However, if you are not quite so full of the joys of spring, I’ve discovered that there is a potential remedy: blogging. Recent research from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne has revealed that people who have blogged regularly for 2 months have a greater sense of social connectedness than those who don’t blog.
Evidently, people who were feeling isolated and unhappy blogged to vent their feelings and they found that this helped, not only because they were expressing their emotions but also because others within the same community responded to them and offered support.

So, there may be something in this…it does stand to reason that when you’re feeling lonely or unhappy it can help enormously when you get support from others, albeit in a virtual environment.
Why not give it a go? You never know – it could change your life…and it’s doubtless better for your body than Prozac.
